This kit requires a compatible BUP mount base and the OEM seat post mount.
This kit uses the standard patented OEM seat post mount latch connector (not included) that comes with the Varia RCT715. By removing just two screws, the stock connector can be moved from the seatpost to the back of the saddle for greater visibility and range. This kit includes a safety tether that wraps around saddle and the RCT715 post. By design, even when partially unlatched, the RCT715 cannot fall out of the OEM connector. The latch must be fully disengaged to remove the RCT715. Because of this, even if the latch is accidentally released, the tether will stay engaged between the post and the latch.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This kit is only warranted for use with the mount bases listed below. Use with any other Bup mount voids the mount base warranty.

Features of the RCT715 Mount Arm
![]() |
We used the patented Garmin OEM seatpost latch connector (not included) as the basis for this mount arm. Using the included Torx screwdriver, simply separate the latch assembly from the seatpost mount plate and re-attach it to the BUP mount arm. |

The back plate isn't just for looks, it performs two important functions. First, it helps to create a pocket of smooth airflow around the Varia that reduces drag. Second, it prevents the OEM mount screws from loosening and falling out which would separate the latch connector from the mount. | ![]() |

The included safety tether is attached between the Varia and the OEM latch connector. Even if the connector is not latched, the Varia will remain attached to the connector. In the unfortunate event there is a crash or impact that snaps the arm or mount off of the bike, the tether will keep the Varia attached to the bike via the connector. |
